Story and Strategy has been named a finalist in the 2026 Pegasus Awards, presented by the Dallas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA Dallas), for its work with Center for Transforming Lives.
The Pegasus Awards recognize excellence in public relations and communications programs across North Texas. Winners will be announced Nov. 12 during the annual awards ceremony in Dallas.
The finalist recognition honors a campaign that helped elevate Center for Transforming Lives, a Fort Worth-based nonprofit serving women and children, into one of the most visible voices in North Texas on issues including economic mobility, housing stability and poverty.
Working within the budget constraints common to nonprofit organizations, Story and Strategy developed and executed an earned media and thought leadership program that significantly expanded the organization's visibility and influence. During the campaign, Center for Transforming Lives secured 49 earned media placements, generated more than 574 million potential media impressions and established CEO Carol Klocek as a recognized thought leader. As a result, Klocek secured a seat on the Forbes Nonprofit Council, a speaking role at the nationally recognized Texas Tribune Festival, and Center for Transforming Lives was featured in media coverage spanning major North Texas outlets as well as national news organizations.
"We're honored to be recognized by PRSA Dallas alongside so many talented communications professionals," said Kim Brown, APR, co-founder of Story and Strategy. "This campaign demonstrated what's possible when a mission-driven organization commits to sharing its expertise and impact with strategy and intention. Center for Transforming Lives has an important story to tell, and we're proud to help more people hear it."
The recognition adds to a year of momentum for Center for Transforming Lives, which was also named a 2026 finalist for D CEO's Nonprofit Organization of the Year.
